Will REALTORS® Become Obsolete In 2022?

No, REALTORS® will not become obsolete in 2022. While access to real estate transactional best practices has increased with more information on the internet, this does not replace the experience a REALTOR® brings to selling or buying a residential or commercial property.

During Covid many real estate brokerages had to pivot on how they were able to advertise and show properties. Real estate agents started to focus more on video or 360 tours, and produce valuable content allowing buyers to view more properties than when searching on their own. Additionally, REALTORS® can use Zoom meetings to discuss any of the other questions potential buyers or sellers may have.

Often, homeowners will work with real estate agents because it gives them someone who can advertise, reach buyers and show their homes. Most people are work a full time job and do not have the time to be available for all showings. Without this availability, they are losing opportunities to sell their property, and potentially missing out on profit.
