ECAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship
March 16th – Semi-Finals 4 pm & 7:30 March 17th – Championship 7:30 pm
This weekend will bring excitement for anyone who follows Division I ice hockey. The Eastern College Athletic Conference teams will be competing for the title of champion. The teams who will be competing are Cornell, Harvard, Princeton and Clarkson. Cornell comes in as the top team and will face Princeton in the first game while Clarkson and Harvard will compete in the second. Cornell and Clarkson are both ranked within the top ten nationally, so this will be a one-of-a-kind event in an Olympic town.
35th Annual Lake Placid Loppet and Kort Loppet
March 17th – Events throughout the day
The Lake Placid Loppet is a classic event in this region. It is a XC ski race that was started in the early 80’s. This takes place on the Olympic trails of Mt. Van Hoevenberg Recreation Area. It consists of two distance races – 50k and 25k. Everyone is welcome to join with races for all age groups and different lengths. You have until March 14 at midnight to register . This would also be a great day to enjoy the weather and event with friends and family.
Taste of Maple Weekends

At the beginning of spring, members of the New York State Maple Producers Association invite people into their “sugar houses” to experience the magic to create pure NY maple syrup. With 160 farms and museums across New York, these weekends provide a delicious and fun outing with activities for every maple-lover to try.
