Congratulations Local Athletes!

February 1st, 2018

After hosting two Olympics, Lake Placid is still a top destination for elite athletes to train for future games and world cups. With the games starting in a few weeks, we would like to congratulate all the athletes who will be competing. We would also like to wish our local athletes the best of luck in their respective sports. Their hard work and dedication is truly inspiring to see. The local athletes who will be competing are:

Alpine Skiing- February 10th – February 18th

Tommy Biesemeyer – Keene, NY

Andrew Weibrect – Lake Placid, NY

Biathlon – February 10th – February 23rd

Lowell Bailey – Lake Placid, NY

Tim Burke – Lake Placid, NY

Maddie Phaneuf – Old Forge, NY

Luge – February 10th and February 11th

Chris Mazder – Saranac Lake, NY

We would also like to wish one of our tenants, Jayson Terdiman, the best of luck. He will be competing in Doubles Luge with Matt Mortensen on February 14th. We are excited to see our local athletes compete and perform at the highest level.

One of the most exciting aspects of living in the Lake Placid area is being able to meet and watch these athletes continue to push themselves reach their goals. The area always awakens more then normal during this time of year with local support of athletes and the lighting of the flame for the games. Locals and visitors can even experience some of the events locally.

You can experience a bobsled run, skeleton run, luge run, or discover cross country skiing. If you would like to visit multiple aspects, you can try the Olympic Sites Passport, where you receive admission to multiple locations and discounts on the different experiences around Lake Placid. Come experience the excitement of the games without the flight to Pyeongchang!
